Lilith is a wild caught Phidippus morpheus (“Dream jumping spider”) we bought from a show in 2024. While not as big as our regal or the native bold jumpers in our yard, she was a decent size and we found her color very striking. I immediately looked into the species and was saddened to see only wild caught individuals available for sale. I dallied with the idea of breeding her to create a captive bred supply.
Turns out there was no need, as shortly after we got her she started building a nest and we now have spiderlings. There doesn’t seem to be much information on breeding or raising Phidippus morpheus online. This site is an attempt to rectify that.
Lilith passed away January 31, 2025.
