My shipment from Bugs in Cyberspace arrived. FedEx was several hours late, but the slings arrived safe and sound. I got three Phidippus octopunctatus, three Paraphidippus aurantius, and one Agave (Paraphidippus basalis). The first two species have been on my wishlist. Octopunks get almost as big as regals and males have beautiful coloring. Aurantius have amazing color in both sexes. Agave wasn’t on my wishlist, but they get pretty large. Most were supposed to be instar 4, though the agave was instar 5.
The agave was much larger than the rest. Way larger than my i5 morpheus slings. It had yellow socks!

I was surprised the octopunks weren’t larger, given their reputation for getting large, but the site said they were growing slow in the cold months. This group hatched in October 2024, but they were still tiny compared to my morpheus.

The Paraphidippus aurantius were the smallest and iridescent gold even at this young age. They were also very fast and jumpy. You can watch videos of these guys over on my TikTok.

Can’t wait to watch these guys grow.
